On December 26, 2021, Facebook blocked the 13 years long account profile of artist and Holocaust and human rights educator A.K Segan after he criticized Facebook's airing of a tv commercial shown on ABC stations; the commercial had no closed-captions. The Facebook co. has concurrently refused to allow Segan to administer the vision health, pedestrian safety and Holocaust and human rights education pages he administered in the now blocked account.

Art: 2022
Media: Pencil, ink, colored pencil, a 1981 etching; linocut prints and or pieces of linocuts dating from  1972; 1973; 1990; 2016; 2017
Framed: 33 3/8 inches H x 27 3/8 W.

The artwork includes sketchbook drawings of the 1970's, 1980, 1990, 1997.

There are 8 small pencil drawings, upper left area, which were drawn by a nephew of the artist, probably in 1990 or 1991, when the nephew was a teen. There is a portion of a self-portrait etching, 1981. The 2016 linocut, seen lower right, is a section of a memorial to French surrealist poet and anti-Nazi activist Robert Desnos, who perished at the Nazi's Terezin concentration-death camp in Czechoslovakia.

A 1973 linocut by Segan is titled The Mission. It was inspired by an artwork by the late American artist Raphael Soyer. A photo of the Soyer artwork, a 1933 lithograph, is viewable in the website of the Whitney Museum of American Art, Manhattan, NY: https://whitney.org/collection/works/4792

The Soyer litho is also viewable in Cranbrook Art Museum website page:

A drawing seen at bottom center was drawn from a photo of a woman Romani or Sinti prisoner taken at the Nazi's Auschwitz death camp, Nazi occupied Poland; prisoner no. Z-9260. I first saw the photo in an article in The Guardian UK on Romani and Sinti peoples who were murdered by the Nazis.

The block by the Facebook company denies Segan the ability to administer 2 Human rights and Holocaust education with art Pages he administered in the now blocked account;a Page promoting pedestrian and bicyclist safety in greater Seattle; 4 separate Pages addressing vision harmful graphic (text) design as used by the Seattle Art Museum; New York Times; Frye Art Museum, and Facebook.

On December 24 to 25, 2021, Segan had video'd 3 separate viewings he saw of Facebook's tv commercial, aired on the ABC tv network's KOMO affiliate station. Segan was able to post the first 3 videos on his profile Page and on his education Pages, but not on KOMO tv's Facebook Page. when Segan tried posting the 3rd of these important videos on health to the KOMO Facebook Page, Facebook blocked his account.

Despite a complaint to the consumer protection division, Wash. state Attorney General, Facebook has refused to reinstate the account, even after Segan sent, as he was prompted to send, photo documentation of his name, address, birthdate and photo with legal ID.

The blocked account was opened in 2008; Segan had 800 Friends in the account. Of the Pages he administered, here are stats re Facebook LIKES each of those now inoperable Pages. (And this block of Segan's being able to administer these Pages is a gift to racists; to Holocaust deniers; gun-rights and mass shooting terrorism attack apologists; to those who drive recklessly by talking and looking at phones while driving; and to those who wantonly promote eye disease with their use of light-value, low-contrast and non bold type text design (online and hardcopy), which is not approved for eye health by any optometrists, ophthalmologists and opticians!
