THE JEWISH TRANSCRIPT, Sept. 18,1998 /5759 Jewish New Year Rosh Ha’shanah issue: Front page cover art was a full-color reproduction of Segan's seven-foot high pencil and gouache drawing/painting titled A History of Jewish Writing from the Ten Commandments to the 20th century.  The issue included an article by Segan: "About the cover, Art by Akiva," p. 2B. The artwork includes a major pictorial section artistically depicting the lyrics, in Yiddish with Hebrew letters, of the Partisanen song, a song sung by concentration-death camp inmates during the Holocaust.
